چکیده

Purpose: To determine the prognostic significance of miR-663 in glioblastoma, its effect in tumor progression, and the underlying mechanism. Experimental Design: Specimens from 256 cases of patients with glioma, including 239 patients with follow-up information, were used to analyze the association between miR-663 and patients’ prognosis by Kaplan–Meier and multivariate Cox regression analyses. The effects of miR-663 on glioblastoma cell proliferation and invasion were examined both in vitro and in vivo. Bioinformatics prediction and signal network analysis were applied to identify the putative targets of miR-663, which were further verified by luciferase reporter assay, rescue experiments as well as the immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blotting examination of downstream effectors. Quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR) and IHC were applied to investigate the clinical association between miR-663 and its target in human glioblastoma

microRNA-29a functions as a tumor suppressor in nasopharyngeal carcinoma 5-8F cells through targeting VEGF

Objective(s): microRNA-29 (miR-29) family miRNAs have been mentioned as tumor suppressive genes in several human cancers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the function of miR-29a in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells. Materials and Methods: Human NPC cell line 5-8F was transfected with mimic, inhibitor or scrambled controls...

miR-146b-5p functions as a tumor suppressor by targeting TRAF6 and predicts the prognosis of human gliomas

Down-regulation of miR-146b-5p contributes to tumorigenesis in several human cancers. However, the relevance of miR-146b-5p to prognosis, proliferation and apoptosis in gliomas remains unknown. In the present study, we demonstrated that miR-146b-5p expression was inversely correlated with grades and Ki-67 index in 147 human glioma specimens, but positively correlated with patients' survival. MiR-490-5p Functions as an OncomiR in Breast Cancer by Targeting NFATc4

Breast cancer is a serious health problem worldwide in women. MicroRNAs are small non-coding RNAs of 18–25 nucleotides in length that post-transcriptionally modulate gene expression. MiR-490 has been reported as a tumor suppressor and oncomiR microRNA in breast cancer with two separate targets, NFAT and Rho. NFAT is one of the targets for miR-490 but the relationship between hsa</e...

FUS1 acts as a tumor-suppressor gene by upregulating miR-197 in human glioblastoma.

Glioblastoma is the most common primary malignancy of the adult central nervous system (CNS) and is associated with an exceptionally poor prognosis. Elucidation of the pathogenesis and molecular changes will help us to further understand the pathogenesis and progression of the disease and offer new therapeutic targets. FUS1 (TUSC2, tumor suppressor candidate 2) is a tumor-suppressor gene locate...
